ISCHE 47 Call for Proposals & Standing Working Group CfP

 

The ISCHE 47 Theme is ‘Sources and Research Practices in the History of Education: Challenges and Perspectives’.

In addition to the general call, the ISCHE Standing Working Groups would like to encourage discussion on specific thematic topics and have therefore issued their special call. You will find an overview of all the Call for Papers below.

The conference will receive submissions through eight thematic strands (A-Strands):

  1. Historiographical traditions and new methodological and interpretive pathways in working with/through sources
  2. Public and private archives, libraries and collections: perspectives, problems and challenges
  3. Studying educational systems and policies
  4. Traces of everyday life and of the sensorial in educational processes
  5. Studying pedagogical theories and agents
  6. Working across spheres and sources
  7. Digital sources, sources’ databases, and use of Artificial Intelligence in historical research
  8. Memories, memory-work, and social representations of education as sources in the history of education

or through seven strands from the participating SWGs (B-Strands):

  1. Histories of Education Beyond the Human: Debates and Quandaries
  2. History of Education in African Societies
  3. Teacher Education and Written Culture: History of Libraries, Books, and Practices
  4. Crises and Educational Renewal in a Complex World, 1870-1950
  5. Public Histories of Education
  6. Notre tout puissant Empire du milieu: histories of secondary education
  7. History of Knowledge in the History of Education
