HoE in African Societies - Online Meetings
Invitation to participate in online meetings
The Standing Working Group "History of Education in African Societies" is organizing four online meetings throughout the academic year. They will take place on Tuesdays, from 3 to 5 pm (Central European Time) We will devote sometime talking of our collective projects, and listen to four presentations:
- November 25: Julie Marie Weiskopf, “The Benefit I got was to Educate the Elders”: Tanzanian Adult Literacy Teachers' Participatory Benefits, 1970-1985
- January 27 : Hélène Charton, "Se former à l'aube des indépendances: Trajectoires d'une première génération de diplômés du Kenya (1945-1956)"
- March 24: Alina Lapushnika, "Negotiating Identity: The Avatime Initiation Rite in the Face of Christianisation and Modern Education (19th–21st Centuries)"
- May 26: Elisa Prosperetti, "An Anticolonial Development: Race, Schooling, and Emancipation in Twentieth Century West Africa"
