Phishing Warning

Phishing warning! Please do not open or react to any emails which do not come from an official ISCHE email address. (@ische.org)

Recently scammers have sent emails to ISCHE contacts in order to ask for support with an urgent financial transfer. They pretend to be one of the ISCHE executives, while using e-mail addresses like presidents207/boardXC (at) gmail/yahoo/web.de. Please be aware that these emails are not from us.

To help protect yourself:

  • Do not click on any suspicious links or open attachments.
  • Report it to your email provider (e.g., in Gmail click the three dots → Report phishing).
  • Block the sender in your email client.
  • Delete the message.
  • Do not share any personal or financial details in response to an unsolicited email.
  • Always verify the sender’s email address — official messages from ISCHE will only come from @ische.org addresses or @conftool.org (for conference participants)
  • If you are unsure, please contact us directly at ische-office@ische.org before taking any action.

Some tips to detect phishing Emails:

  1. These emails may be sent from a public email domain like "@gmail.com" or an incorrect domain name. Most legitimate organisations will only contact you with an official email domain, and not with personal email addresses from public domains.
  2. Improper language use or poor spelling and bad grammar can also be an indication as well as phrases which seem odd compared to the standard style of communication within the association.
  3. Phishing scams often include suspicious links or attachments. Do not open attachments from sources you don't know or trust, as these often contain malware.
  4. Phishing scams often create a sense of urgency, asking whether you are available immediately or a soon as possible.

We hope this information will help you detect and ignore/delete such phishing emails in the future. We are actively monitoring the situation and taking steps to reduce the risk of further spam activity.

Thank you for staying alert and helping us maintain a secure community.
