ISCHE is an academic association dedicated to the history of education. Founded in 1978 as a standing conference, it is now registered since 2015 in the German register of associations, keeping the same name. It includes individual and institutional members all over the world.
General Assembly 2026
The General Assembly election will be conducted exclusively online. All ISCHE members as of 15 June 2026 are eligible to vote.
ISCHE 47 - Call for Proposals
ISCHE and the University of Athens would like to invite scholars to participate with their research in the 2026 edition of the International Standing Conference for the History of Education.
STANDING WORKING GROUPS
Standing Working Groups (SWG) are small, thematically organized research groups within ISCHE, designed to coordinate research and discussion on a set topic, guided by specific research goals, for a set period of time.
Call for Nominations
Nominations are now open for the 2026 award. Self-nominations are welcome.
ECRs
ISCHE is very future focused and thereby keen to support the development of the next generation of Historians of Education. A number of initiatives have been developed, many through conversation with early career scholars at annual conferences.
